Everything gets lived with here first. If it warps in a warm room, or the layer lines catch the light wrong, it doesn’t leave the desk.

Every shape has to survive a real printer before it counts. If it needs scaffolding to stand up, or detail finer than 0.2 mm can hold, it goes back to the sketchbook.

We might put the files up so people can print them wherever they are. Still deciding.

Files you can print at home. An email gets you the STL and the settings we used; that is the whole transaction.

How it’s made

One layer
at a time

A 0.2 mm layer is about two sheets of paper. Something hand-sized is seven hundred of them, one on top of the last, on the one printer we own. That is most of why the first batch is taking a while.

  1. A Draw Modelled until the proportions stop annoying us.
  2. B Slice Walls and infill set for whatever the thing has to survive.
  3. C Print Hours of it. We watch the first layer, then leave it alone.
  4. D Finish Seam trimmed, brim cleaned off, then it gets handled and argued about.
